Sarosh Talukdar — EDRC Director (1986)


Sarosh Talukdar served as director of the original Design Research Center, Co-PI of NSF funding for the Engineering Design Research Center (EDRC), founding co-director of the EDRC, director of the EDRC Systems Lab and a participant in numerous interdisciplinary research projects over his 29 years at Carnegie Mellon. After joining the ECE faculty in 1974, he ran the department’s Power Engineering Program for a number of years. He was among the first to apply the Sequential Quadratic Programming algorithm, using it with his students to optimize the operation of electric networks.
