One of the roundtable discussions during this year's meeting at Carnegie Mellon.

PITA (The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Technology Alliance) is a Pennsylvania DCED (Department of Community and Economic Development) program designed to provide economic benefit to Pennsylvania through knowledge transfer, the discovery of new technologies and the retention of highly educated students.

PITA is a collaboration among the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Center for Advanced Technology for Large Structural Systems (ATLSS) at Lehigh University, and the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems (ICES) at Carnegie Mellon. The goal of the PITA Research Program is to assist the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and its companies in increasing operating efficiency and enhancing economic development. State funding is available to match investments made by PA companies and agencies. In fiscal year 2008, $4 million has been provided by the Department of Community and Economic Development to create benefits to the PA economy through funding of research, sponsored courses and outreach programs. Please contact Rhonda Moyer to learn more about the availability of PITA funding.
