PITA FY2013 Budget

Governor Tom Corbett signed into law the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Pennsylvania budget approved by the legislature and agreed to by the legislative leaders and the Governor. The state budget contains funding for the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Technology Alliance Program (PITA) at the $1,500,000 level. The funding enabled Carnegie Mellon University, Lehigh University and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to continue PITA's unique and highly successful public-private economic development program this year.

The PITA program has successfully reversed the brain-drain trend among students who participate in PITA sponsored research and education projects. By providing direct technology transfer to Pennsylvania companies, PITA also enhances the competitive environment for participating companies. We thank Tom Corbett, members of the Corbett Administration, the DCED and members of the General Assembly for recognizing our contributions to the revitalization of Pennsylvania's economy.

For more information on the PITA program and high impact projects, please contact PITA Co-Directors Gary Fedder, and Richard Sause, or PITA Associate Directors Chad Kusko and Matthew Sanfilippo.
