Numerical Simulation Of Radiographic Testing For Concrete Structures

Summary:The proposed study will develop and experimentally validate a numerical modeling approach within the commercial software CIVA RT (EXTENDE, 2013) for simulating radiographic testing of concrete structures. This validated modeling approach will provide a cost effective and safe alternative to experimental testing, and will facilitate process optimization studies that improve imaging and damage detection capabilities for radiographic testing, with wide ranging application to the transportation, building, environmental, and energy sectors.
