Separation of hydrogen from a mixture of gases is crucial for the development of hydrogen-based alternative green-energy technologies. The glass-metal-ceramic composite to be developed under this proposal is a promising candidate for this purpose. In addtion, it has an unsual combination of electrical and dielectric properties and thermal stability, which would make the material suitable for high-temperature electrical applications. SCHOTT is exploring new applications and markets for this emerging product.
