The Microsystems Research Cluster brings together faculty and students from various departments across campus to share knowledge and resources and to provide awareness of the breadth, quality and quantity of microsystems related research at Carnegie Mellon. Projects span virtually every aspect of microsystems research including biochemical sensors; gas chemical sensors; inertial sensors; micro/nanoprobe manipulation systems; RF MEMS; MEMS & electronics integration; MEMS design, modeling and testing; microfluidic systems; micromirror arrays; microrobotics; microscale cellular mechanics; miniature machine tools; and nano/microscale tribology. These topics cut across several other centers within ICES and throughout Carnegie Mellon.
