The Philip and Marsha Dowd Engineering Seed Fund was established in 2001 through a generous gift to the College of Engineering (CIT) from Philip (B.S. Materials Science and Engineering, 1963) and Marsha Dowd. This fellowship grant program, administered through ICES, provides support for graduate students working on cutting edge research projects which do not have other sources of funding.

ICES is pleased to announce the 2008 Dowd-ICES fellows: Yixuan "Sean" Chen, Christine Costello, Nilay Inoglu, and Tony Kim. This year's Fellows were selected based on the innovative nature of their projects, the ability of their research to support the ICES mission of fostering a multidisciplinary research environment, and the likelihood that their research may facilitate government and industry support in future years.
