Cristina Amon — ICES Director (1999–2006)

Cristina Amon pioneered the development of computational fluid dynamics for thermal engineering of micro-electronics subject to multidisciplinary competing constraints. In her role as ICES director, she led interdisciplinary research initiatives, seeded high-impact projects and promoted strong interactions with industry. She created a laboratory-oriented structure at ICES and initiated industry-sponsored multidisciplinary project courses which integrate education, research and engineering practice. She is a fellow of AAAS, ASEE, ASME, IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
