CenSCIR Faculty Member Burcu Akinci and Student Win Best Paper Award

Associate Professor Burcu Akinci and her graduate student Pingbo Tang were awarded recently a best paper award at the 2009 Construction Research Congress for their paper entitled, "Extracting Surveying Goals from Point Clouds to Support Construction and Infrastructure Inspection." Akinci is a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering and is an active member of CenSCIR. The Construction Research Congress is the meeting of the Construction Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was held in early April in Seattle, Wash.
