PITA Call for Proposals is Announced
Article Posted On 10/21/2009
Governor Edward G. Rendell recently signed into law the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 Pennsylvania budget approved by the legislature and agreed to by the legislative leaders and the governor. The state budget contains funding for the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Technology Alliance Program (PITA)at the $1.225 million level. The funding enabled Carnegie Mellon University, Lehigh University and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to continue PITA's unique and highly successful public-private economic development program this year.
ICES is now soliciting PITA proposals for FY2010 PITA projects. Proposals are due on December 4, 2009. To submit, please return the three required forms via email to Daniel Shapiro. The RFP, additional information, and application forms are available on the PITA website. Specific information for this proposal cycle is on the website at:
www.pitapa.org/proposal_call.html. Please contact Matt Sanfilippo or Gary Fedder if you have any questions about the proposal process.
The PITA program has successfully reversed the brain-drain trend among students who participate in PITA sponsored research and education projects. By providing direct technology transfer to Pennsylvania companies, PITA also enhances the competitive environment for participating companies. We thank Governor Rendell, members of the Rendell Administration, the DCED and members of the General Assembly for recognizing our contributions to the revitalization of Pennsylvania's economy.
